POTTERY CLASS THE SEQUEL
The first pottery class we took transported us back to a time when we were younger…more mellow…in the groove…so we decided to take a second class…hoping our pottery skills would improve.
For this class we brought four friends to share in the learning and frivolity of the night…as luck would have it (or is this why we invited them) they brought wine…both red and white.
As we began creating our pottery…from a single lump of clay…it occurred to how friendships are also formed this way.
The clay at first seems cold…confusing…but in your hands begins to warm…before you know it…with time and effort…a friendship begins to form.
Since you know how friendship, like clay, is malleable the two of you agree…to keep building…each with your own vision of how beautiful it will be.
And you keep building…all your life…when the winds are calm…or storming…
your hands are there to guide or smooth …your friendship always forming.
It was a wonderful evening…proven by how quickly the time flew…making pottery with old friends…and one friend who is new.
I realized, when all the pottery was finished…and this evening came to an end…how life is so much more enjoyable when you bring along a friend.
Friends bring laughter, friends bring joy…friends help the night to shine…
And if you’re lucky, as we were, friends also bring the wine.
At the end of the evening I was faced with the fact…a potter I will never be…
But, if our friends are willing, and the wine still flowing…I’ll sign up for class 3.
