IN BETWEEN
Today marks the middle of Spring…also known as the 5th of May…it also sits in the middle…between teacher and nurse appreciation day.
So allow us to take a moment to put my appreciation down in verse…remembering all the times in life (though untrained) we have been a teacher…or a nurse.
In those moments we understand what it must be like…all the planning…all the worry…all the fear…which makes us appreciate even more…the ones who chose them as careers.
The ones who know we come to them for help…the ones who work for little pay…the ones who know how a smile from them can brighten up our day.
The ones who remain calm in the face of adversity…no matter how loud we may shout…the ones who have seen and heard it all before…the ones we never can gross out.
The ones who know when it’s time to be hard on us…and when it’s time to be sweet…the ones who come home tired at the end of the day…having spent hours on their feet.
The ones who keep going day in and day out…the ones who work and toil and pray…the ones who believe in miracles…and await them every day.
The ones who know their job is important…the ones who know how much they’re needed…the ones who know, if they touch but one life…then in life…they have succeeded.
So just as May 5th…in between the 4th and 6th has found in the calendar it’s space…
As we settle in between teachers and nurses…we wonder…
could there be a safer place!
