After spending a lifetime in our house…
(a wonderful place to raise a family!)
we’re in the process of getting ready to move
from Florida…to NC.
We’ll be heading up to the mountains…
where it is our plan to stay
in our cabin to be closer to our family…
and our great granddaughter…who is due now…
any day.
So we’re slowly paring down
those things over the years we’ve accumulated…
taking time to savor, for a moment,
all the memories we’ve created.
It is with mixed emotions we prepare to leave…
excited at a new adventure yet to be….
while at the same time sad to leave behind
the house that raised our family.
So Deborah had a local artist…
paint for her… and me
the house we’ve spent a lifetime in:
The house that raised our family.
We’ll be taking this painting with us …to our cabin in NC
Where it will find a cherished place upon a wall
for all the world…and us…to see.
A reminder that this old house…no matter where we roam
was more than just a house to us…it was a happy home.
And if people ask, “What’s that?”
when they see it hanging on the wall …of our cabin in NC….
With a smile on our face…and a tear in our eye we’ll tell them,
“That’s the house that raised our family.”
