Our two months road trip has finally ended…but, oh, what memories we compiled…
It’s amazing all you can see and do in a journey of 8000 miles.
When you travel across the country…in a car…off the highways…avoiding interchanges
It’s not only the landscape…but you…who go through subtle changes.
For we knew the things we’d see…some of them planned…most of our destinations charted…but we didn’t know we’d be different people than we were when we departed.
We stayed at 20 different Air B & B’s…some expensive…some discount
we saw so many wonderful sights…we long ago lost count.
From the beautiful beaches of our home in Florida…with the sun and sea and waves…to the blue grass of Kentucky…and one humongous cave.
From the Arch in the city of St. Louis…and all the history it denotes…
to the mighty Mississippi viewed from deck of a riverboat.
From the Appalachian Mountains in North Carolina…to the taller Rockies…not yet fully grown…to the Lamar Vally filled with bison…and the geysers of Yellowstone.
From a Tipi on the Shoshone river…with the nigh sky all aglow…
to the majestic peaks of the Tetons…that seemed engraved with snow.
We saw the Flint Hills of the Kansas prairie…that wherever you are glancing…
in the slightest breeze or the strongest wind…you see the grasses dancing.
I could go on and on talking about about all the wonders we have viewed
about more places…about the animals…about the people…about the food.
But I don’t want to bore you…did I mention the tipi and a million stars…
besides you all have your own memories…these memories our ours.
BUT…
If you want to know more about our trip…
just ask us about our 8000 miles…
and we will tell you one of 8000 stories
that led to 8000 smiles.
