I love my morning walk…I find it comforting and effective…
The way it helps me clear my mind and keep things in perspective.
Out before the sun…in the solitude…cooled by a morning breeze…
I’m happy sharing my walk with the owls, the rabbits and the trees.
Over the years I have found on every walk I ever took….
My perspective has been shaped by where I choose to look.
It matters if I’m looking down at the rabbits, the butterflies…the bees
looking out over the ocean…or up at the moon…the stars…the trees.
When I look down at the insects and animals I sometimes think
how important I am …how superior…how tall….
But when I look out over the ocean or up at the moon and stars…
I think to myself…how insignificant I am…how small.
My walk reminds me at my tallest or my smallest…at my best or at my worst…
I am but one part…one tiny fraction…of a vast and ever-changing universe.
And usually by the end of my walk…I’ve put my life back in perspective…
I’m reminded of what’s important…and what should be my prime objective….
To tread softly and enjoy this beautiful world…
filled with all these magnificent wonders that I see….
while trying to add to it….
my own beauty
my own peace and harmony.
