WILDFLOWERS

When it’s a handful of wildflower seeds you intend to sow…

you toss them in the garden…hoping to help and to watch them grow.

You lovingly tend to that garden…oh the hours you will toil…

taking care of those tiny seeds before they even break the soil.

And when they do begin to grow…their health you hope to maintain.

You pray for the perfect rays of sunshine and just the right amount of rain.

There comes a day…long after you planted those seeds…in Mother Earth’s womb…

When you get to sit back and enjoy as all those wildflowers bloom.

Since it’s wildflowers you planted…no two flowers are the same…

Each has their now beauty…their own individuality…their own name.

A family is a lot like a garden of wildflowers…once those seeds are sown

We do our best to raise them…then sit back and enjoy their beauty once they’ve grown.

Our grandchildren, the next generation of those flowers we long ago happily watched grow

asked if we wanted to meet them for lunch…of course we said we’d go!

It gave us a chance to reminisce…

to remember the wild seeds they were sewn from…

A chance to sit back in a restaurant

and enjoy the beautiful flowers they have become.
