I wonder when we say "I Can't" how easy it would be
To change the way we think by removing the letter 't'?

It's easier said than done but it's quite a simple plan
I can't without the 't' and you suddenly think I Can!

To our loved ones: our friends, our family...it’s easy to be kind?

What a kind world this would be if that same kindness could overflow
Onto every creature of the Earth...even those we do not know.

Some measure their success in money...power...and fame
Others on the smiling faces of those who say their name.

I wonder about teachers and students for haven’t we been both?
Alternating between the two is essential for our growth.

Teacher...student...student...teacher...we gladly take our turn
Because one key to life is knowing...when to teach and when to learn.

When people think they know it all, and thusly think they’re wise.

Brains and wisdom are not necessarily linked, for only the wise discern 
That wisdom comes from knowing...there’s still so much to learn.
