That time is precious is a truth but let me sweeten it’s myth
by adding time is made even more precious
by those we choose to spend it with.
That time is precious is a truth but let me sweeten it’s myth
by adding time is made even more precious
by those we choose to spend it with.
May we blessed to understand
how there must be a reason…and how this reason must be strong
Why most of the songs that have ever been written and sung
are written and sung as love songs.
He asked her to teach him about her music
because there was so much he didn’t know.
He asked her to teach him about her music…
because he knew she loved it so.
So she shared within everything she knew
and slowly he came to know…
what was special about her music…why she loved it so.
Soon he felt her love of music inside his own heart grow
And it wasn’t long until he smiled and said…
“I love your music so”.
For years they listened to the music together…
wherever they would go.
And anyone who knew them knew…how they loved their music so.
One day she asked as they were sitting
listening to the music playing low…
“Remember when you asked me to teach you about my music all those years ago?”
“Something I’ve been wondering lately…that I’d really like to know…
was that because you knew I loved my music so?”
“There are two parts to my answer.” He smiled.
“Both parts I’d like for you to know.
Yes, It was because you loved your music…
but, more than that, it was because I loved you so.”
She had always loved him…
And through the years she loved watching their love grow…
But in that moment she remembered
why she loves him so."
May we be blessed to understand how,
once built,
a house is just a house
waiting anxiously on it’s own
for us to fill it with love and memories
so it can become a home.
As they were sitting in their house he looked around and scratched his head.
Then, after looking around some more, turned to his wife and said:
“It’s old, it’s small, we only have one bathroom, we don’t have a lot of storage space.
Some of the windows won’t open and the whole hearth needs to be replaced.”
Its floor leans a little to the east, it has it’s share of cracks
It has so many imperfections that all the newer houses lack.
“So what is it about this house,” He asked, “that we bought all those years ago?”
“What is it about this house that makes you love it so?”
"When we walked into this house that first day,” she said as she wiped away a tear,
“I immediately began to see all the things we would be doing here.”
“This house made me feel happy…and the moment we walked in her front door
I could hear our laughter echoing off these walls…and see our babies crawling on these floors.”
“I saw us eating meals around this table…first just me and you
then adding more chairs and food as our family grew and grew.”
“I saw holidays celebrated in this room…all the birthday cakes and candles I could see
I saw us opening presents…and in that corner…I saw our Christmas tree.”
“That’s why I love this house…with all its flaws and glitches and cracks….
because this is where or life unfolded…and this is where I love looking back…”
“and thinking how when we stepped through that door…in that one instant I knew
this would be the house where our dreams would all come true.”
May we all be blessed to think of ourselves more like a flower
than a woman or a man
living simply and beautifully every day
while blooming anywhere we can.
He often thought…she’s like a flower.
He marveled at how she always found a way
to welcome in the sunlight and add her color to the day.
He often thought…she’s like a flower.
The way she shares her beauty with all the other flowers… and the trees.
He loves to watch her joy as she dances in the breeze.
He often thought…she’s like a flower.
for every day he finds…not only is she beautiful
but she’s soft, loving and kind.
He often thought…she’s like a flower
because with just the smile on her face
She not only brightens up his life but makes the world a better place.
But he came to realize she IS a flower…as the years progressed
as demonstrated by all the insects that land on her to rest.
For insects have been created with the instinctive power
to search for, to recognize, and to seek out only flowers.
So he knows she has to be a flower…this he’s come to understand
every time a ladybug lands upon her hand.
Yes, he knows she has to be a flower…perhaps a daffodil or a rose
every time a butterfly rests upon her nose.
And now he only thinks of her as a flower…
who blooms every day anew…
After all:
If the ladybugs and the butterflies believe it…
he knows it must be true.
